Ludus is a Latin learning app currently in development, designed specifically for Exeter’s curriculum. The app will generate customized practice sentences using only the vocabulary and grammar concepts students have already learned, creating a controlled, cumulative learning environment. By allowing students to practice at their own pace with familiar material, Ludus aims to build confidence and competency while gradually introducing complexity.
This project reimagines how students engage with Vergil's Aeneid by streamlining the translation process while preserving the intellectual rigor of working with the original Latin. Our approach balances accessibility with scholarly depth, resulting in an 800+ page comprehensive textbook featuring integrated grammar explanations, extensive footnotes, and a complete glossary. Our goal was to help more readers experience this foundational text without compromising the critical skills developed through close textual analysis.
